Is it acceptable to call your child a burden?

I am Muslim so I will tell you behavior of Prophet Muhammadﷺ with children.

1) Prophet Muhammad’s Patience with Children

Anas served the Prophet Muhammad for 10 years and he never said to him ‘Uff’ (a minor harsh word denoting impatience) and never blamed him by saying, “Why did you do so or why didn’t you do so?”

I do not think it is normal to have such high quality extreme patience with someone who is serving you for 10 years to not say even a single harsh word, what kind of behavior do most parents perform when they call their children a “burden” and even more → insult them, criticize them, degrade them and do so much which destroys the self worth of their innocent children?

As parents, we need to think about our behaviors with our children as compared to the behavior of Prophet Muhammadﷺ

2) Prophet Muhammad’s Emphasis on Treating Children Equally

Father of Nouman brought him to the Prophet Muhammad to bear witness to a present that he gave to him. Muhammad said “Have you given all your children a present like that which you have given to him?” He said “No.” Muhammad said: “I will not bear witness to anything. Will it not please you if they were all to treat you with equal respect?” He said: “Of course.” Muhammad said: “Then no (I will not do it).”

In the light of above two examples, I can clearly say that it is not acceptable to call your child a burden.
